Modern diagnostic evaluation and treatment of urolithiasis

Urinary stone disease is a common condition that requires timely and precise intervention to prevent kidney complications and severe pain episodes. We focus on accurately determining the composition and location of the stones, providing patients with personalized treatment options ranging from conservative management to advanced stone removal techniques. Our goal is to rapidly restore patient comfort while implementing individualized strategies to prevent recurrence in the long term.

Kidney and Ureteral Stones

  • Condition Kidney and ureteral stones are mineral deposits (“stones”) that form in the kidneys or travel along the ureter, often leading to severe lower back pain known as renal colic.
  • Detection We accurately determine the presence and precise location of stones using imaging techniques such as high-resolution ultrasound and computed tomography (CT).
  • Treatment The approach focuses on removing the stone using techniques tailored to its size, and relieving any obstruction that may affect kidney function.

Bladder Stones

  • Condition Bladder stones are mineral deposits that form or accumulate within the bladder, frequently leading to irritation, recurrent infections, or difficulty with urination.
  • Detection Diagnosis is established through ultrasound evaluation or direct visualization of the bladder, allowing accurate assessment of the size and number of stones present.
  • Treatment Treatment focuses on the effective removal of the stones and, importantly, on treating the underlying cause of their formation, such as incomplete bladder emptying.

Hydronephrosis

  • Condition Hydronephrosis is the dilation of the kidney caused by the accumulation of urine that cannot drain properly into the bladder due to an obstruction, most commonly a blocked stone.
  • Detection Diagnosis is rapidly established through abdominal ultrasound, which shows dilation of the renal collecting system and the degree of pressure exerted.
  • Treatment Emergency intervention is aimed at relieving the obstruction to restore urinary drainage and prevent permanent damage to renal tissue.
